The NBA regular season has come to a close. Here are my regular season awards.
Lebron James. The best player in the NBA, and he’s having his best individual season. Lebron’s having one of the best statistical seasons in NBA history. The only thing left for him to accomplish is a ring.
Defensive Player of the Year
James Hardin. Oklahoma City wouldn’t be a title contender without him. He would start on just about any other NBA team. The 40 point game against the Pheonix Suns was the icing on the cake. Even the Metta World Peace elbow wont keep Hardin away from this well deserved award.
Rookie of the year
Kyrie Irving. Even though the injury bug hit him, he’s was the best and most consistent rookie all season. Kenneth Faried made a late push, but not enough to overtake Irving. The Cavs aren’t the worst team in the NBA anymore. That’s in large part to Irving.
Coach of the Year
Greg Popovich. The Spurs are too old, too slow, Duncan needs to retire, and their title chances are over. Obviously Coach Popovich didn’t get that memo. Now that Phil Jackson is retired Coach Pop is unquestionably the best coach in the NBA, and he proved it this season.
