Early Season NBA Top 5

1. Miami Heat- They started off to a fast 8-1 start. Since then the big three and company are 2-3. Dwayne Wade’s lower leg problems almost derailed the Heat from the top spot. However the Heat are 5-0 without him. The latest win came against the Los Angeles Lakers behind Lebron’s MVP type performance.
2. Oklahoma City Thunder- Kevin Durant is in the early season MVP discussion. He along with Russell Westbrook look to capitalize on a wide open Western Conference this year. This team is young deep and talent; which makes a scary combination. Just disregard that lose to the Washington Wizards.
3. Chicago Bulls- Good defense and Derrick Rose being…well Derrick Rose. The Bulls are a favorite in the Eastern Conference. However Rose still needs a reliable no. 2 option. Can Richard Hamilton be that guy? The answer remains to be seen.
4. Los Angeles Clippers- Yes your eyes aren’t deceiving you. The Clippers are a top five team. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are already one of the best combinations in the NBA. Paul’s hamstring injury could be a problem if the injury persists. There’s also one scary update about this team, Dwight Howard added them to his trade wish list.
5. Portland Trail Blazers- If LaMarcus Aldridge doesn’t make it to the All Star game this year it’s going to be a crime. Aldridge is arguably the best power forward in the NBA. Also don’t forget about Coach Nate McMillan. So far he’s the clear cut coach of the year.
